Gregory Hess, Ph.D.

Gregory Hess is the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty, James G. Boswell Professor of Economics and a George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College. He is a member of the Shadow Open Market Committee; he has also taught at Cambridge University and Oberlin College; and he has worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. He has published in the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of Public Economics, among other journals. His areas of expertise include monetary policy, war and economics, and the relationship between economics and politics.
