Mr. Ashenfelter is the Joseph Douglas Green 1895 Professor of Economics at Princeton University. His areas of specialization include labor economics, econometrics, and law and economics. He is the director of the Industrial Relations Section at Princeton University, and has been director of the Office of Evaluation of the U.S. Department of Labor, a Guggenheim Fellow, and the Benjamin Meeker Visiting Professor at the University of Bristol. His current research includes the evaluation of the effect of schooling on earnings, the cross-country measurement of wage rates, and many other issues related to the economics of labor markets.

Mr. Garcia is Superintendent of Schools for the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). With a career in education that spans over 37 years, he has built a strong track record for boosting student achievement and narrowing the achievement gap through his work as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and leader in classroom instruction. Previously, he served as superintendent of several school districts: Sager Unified School District, Fresno Unified School District, and the Clark County School District. SFUSD, now under his leadership, has seen consistent improvement in achievement for all students, including increased academic gains for Latino and African American students. Mr. Garcia has also led the way for district policies aimed at graduating all SFUSD students with bilingual skills and the credits required for admission to California's university system.

Mr. Lentz is the Elizabeth and John Moors Cabot Director of the Harvard Art Museums. He oversees one of the leading arts institutions in the United States, with a collection of more than 260,000 objects and a staff of over 260. A 1985 graduate of Harvard's doctoral program in art history, he is a specialist in Persian painting. After serving as curator of Asian art at the Museum of the Rhode Island School of Design, he moved to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where he headed the Department of Ancient and Islamic art. Lentz returned to the East Coast in 1992 to the Smithsonian, initially as head of research and collections at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, later becoming deputy director, before being appointed director of the Smithsonian's International Art Museums Division in 2000.

Dr. McCallin is president of the Colorado Community College System, where she leads the state's largest system of higher education, serving more than 162,000 students annually. She collaborates with public and private higher education institutions, as well as other agencies and legislative bodies, to improve the quality of education throughout Colorado. Prior to her present position, Dr. McCallin served as the executive director of the Governor's Office of State Planning and Budgeting and as the chief economist for the legislative council of the Colorado General Assembly.

Mr. Stark served as president of Claremont McKenna College for 29 years. from 1970 until 1999. He was CMC's third president. Mr. Stark joined the Claremont McKenna College staff in 1961, and retired in 1999. He continues to serve as a Life Trustee on the Board of Trustees.
