With the increasing need to get experience for full-time jobs, graduate school, and professional opportunities, internships are becoming more competitive. Many nonprofit, government, and social service agencies don’t have the capacity to pay, and we know that many students need money for their summer experiences. Career Services has a Sponsored Internship Program that can help. Each year the program supports students domestically and internationally through the sponsorship of 10 programs and fellowships across campus.
Last year, 136 students received funding from CMC through the Career Services Center’s Sponsored Internship Program to pursue internships around the world. The programs and fellowships vary in requirements and focuses, but they share the common goal of supporting CMC students in getting hands on experience. In anticipation for the upcoming SIP application season next spring, the Career Services Center is hosting an Instagram contest for previous participants!
If you have participated in SIP and are a current student, you can enter the contest to have your experience featured on the Career Services Center blog and CMC website. To celebrate the season of thanks and gratitude, share your experiences on Instagram by posting a picture from your internship any day from November 5th to 25th. We want to see the impact of your experience, so we can share your story with other students! In the caption, include a reflection on your experience and share why it was meaningful, along with details about the internship.
Follow and tag @CMCCSC and use #SIPstory to enter. Three individuals will be selected based on their photo and story. These individuals will each receive a blog post about their internship experience. They will also be interviewed by the office of Public Affairs and featured on Claremont McKenna College’s homepage.
