CMC 2013 Sponsored Summer Internship Programs
The Career Services Center is pleased to announce the following sponsored summer internship programs. To view complete program descriptions, eligibility requirements, application instructions, and helpful links, please click on a program title.
A universal application form, a link to which is located in each program’s “Description, Application & Instructions,” must be used to apply. Only one application for one internship/project should be submitted by the appropriate deadline (see the FAQ for more details). Internships
The McKenna International Summer Internship Program

For sophomores and juniors, the McKenna International Summer Internship Program provides financial assistance that enables students to participate in an international learning experience related to career plans. The program strongly encourages applications for Asia. Funding for other areas of the world is extremely limited. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
KLI International Internship Program

CMC sophomores and juniors who wish to pursue transformative international internships that enhances cross-cultural understanding of leadership in the public (for-profit), governmental, or not-for-profit (social) sectors may apply for KLI support. The KLI internship program is open to all CMC sophomores and juniors with preference given to students enrolled in the Leadership Sequence and/or affiliated with KLI. Awards of up to $4,500 are available to assist with travel and living expenses associated with the internship. Awards are based on the academic record of the applicant, relevant activities outside of the classroom, financial aid, recommendations, and the substantive merit of the internship proposal. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
Peter Adams International Internship Program sponsored by the Keck Center

The Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies will offer financial assistance for students to participate in an international learning and work experience related to career plans. The internships are open to all CMC sophomores and juniors with preference given to International Relations majors. Internships must be international in substance but may be international or domestic in location, and may be with private corporations, government departments, and non-governmental organizations. A stipend ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 will be provided. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
The Uoroboros Fellowship Program
Application deadline - February 20, 2013 at Noon
For sophomores and juniors, this fellowship will be offered to a select number of students for internships or independent projects that have the potential to be life-transforming. The proposal must be for a geographic location where you have never lived and can not be with business or government. Fellowship projects must provide experiential exposure in an international setting and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Structured with a sponsoring agency, institution or organization operating in the international arena
- Designed by the student and approved by a sponsoring agency, institution or organization
- Approved or made available by a CMC faculty member or by CMC alumni
Fellowships will be budget based plus a $1,000 travel grant and students will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
The Community Service Internship Program (CSIP)

For freshmen, sophomores and juniors, the CSIP provides up to $3,500 for students who wish to participate in a summer internship working with a non-profit organization/program providing a direct service to the local community. The CSIP, funded by private and corporate donations, allows students to work for organizations that typically do not possess the financial resources to pay interns. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
KLI Social Sector Internship Program

The Kravis Leadership Institute (KLI) encourages and supports summer internships for CMC students. CMC students who are interested in domestic internships with social service organizations may apply for KLI support. The KLI internship program is open to CMC freshman, sophomores, and juniors with preference given to students enrolled in the Leadership Sequence and/or affiliated with KLI. Awards of up to $3,500 are available to assist with travel and living expenses associated with the internship. Awards are based on the academic record of the applicant, relevant activities outside of the classroom, financial aid, recommendation, and the substantive merit of the internship proposal. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
Non-Profit Internship Program

For freshman, sophomores and juniors, the Non-Profit Internship Program enables students to participate in unpaid internships with non-profit organizations or government agencies (including legislative offices) ideally while living at home. Internships can be unique or pre-existing but must provide meaningful responsibilities. Preference will be given to internships that relate directly to the applicant’s academic and/or career interests. Awards of up to $2,500 are available. Recipients will complete the academic requirements of INT 199, Internships, and be eligible for academic credit.
