RECORDING OF HOURS WORKED

Your Enterprise E-Time electronic time sheet is the record of hours worked and is used to compute time for your payroll check.  Care should be taken to see that your time sheet is an accurate record of time worked.  All non-exempt employees are required to record hours worked.

The following rules must be followed:

1.                  You should not clock in or record more than three minutes before and three minutes after your shift.  Exceptions are permissible only when you have received advance, written approval from your supervisor to work overtime.

2.                  Overtime must be authorized by your supervisor in writing before it is worked.  Please remember that Saturday is the beginning of a work week; therefore, is not overtime unless over 8 hours is worked on that day.  Overtime is accumulated once 40 working hours has been exceeded for the whole week.  Paid time off, such as vacation, sick time, or personal holiday, does not calculate toward overtime.

3.                  You are to complete your own electronic time sheet.  Do not give anyone your password to the timekeeping system.  Falsification of this may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

4.                  Please record or clock in and out for all meal periods or upon leaving the campus for personal reasons.  It is required by law that an employee receives a minimum of a 30 minute break after the first 5 hours worked.

5.                  Your supervisor will apply a comment on any modification or alteration to your electronic timesheet.

6.                  Please approve your timesheet at the end of each pay period.  Your electronic approval verifies that the hours recorded are correct.  Note:  This step may be eliminated if you are scanning the time clock with your identification card.

7.                  Time sheets will be approved by your supervisor at the end of each pay period.  By assigning their approval, your supervisor is verifying the accuracy of the record.  Once both approvals are assigned, your time record will be signed off by Payroll.

8.                  If you have forgotten your user id or password to the timekeeping system, please let your supervisor know immediately.

In accordance with state and federal law, the college rounds timesheet notations to the nearest tenth hour.
