CMC-HMC Mathematics Softball Challenge Played May 4, 2005

On May 4, 2005, the Society for Undergraduate Mathematicians (SUM ) of Claremont McKenna College , coached by Professor Mike O'Neill, challenged the mathematics majors from Harvey Mudd College to a softball game. Several mathematics professors from HMC and CMC attended the game, including the two chairs of the departments, Professors Alfonso Castro and Mario Martelli. CMC won the game by a large margin. Mario Martelli scored a home run. After the game everybody enjoyed a hearty barbecue in the Parents field.
