Claremont McKenna College ranks 8th among national liberal arts colleges, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report ranking, released today. CMC moved up from 9th place last year in the “Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” category.
This follows the College’s recent rankings of 1st on Heterodox Academy’s Top 50 Liberal Arts Schools list and 2nd among Top 25 Liberal Arts Colleges and 11th among Top Colleges and Universities in Forbes’ recent 2017 rankings.
The 30-year-old U.S. News & World Report list is considered the most widely cited and distributed college ranking report of its kind. The magazine’s methodology relies on information about faculty resources, graduation and retention rates, and overall graduation performance. Additional factors draw on survey data from peers and high school guidance counselors that rate the quality of institutions in similar categories.
