February 27 Deadline For California Capitol Fellows Program

Deadline for the California Capitol Fellows Program is Wednesday, February 27.

Fellows receive an opportunity to engage in public service and prepare for future careers, while actively contributing to the development and implementation of public policy in California. During the 11-month program, Fellows work as full-time members of a legislative, executive, or judicial branch of California government, and are enrolled as graduate students at California State University Sacramento, which administers the Capitol Fellows program.

Christiana Dominguez '01, who is currently participating in the Jess M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program, described her experience:

"The Assembly Fellowship Program gives Fellows the rare, first-hand opportunity to witness the intricacies of the state legislative process. Beyond the basics on moving legislation, creating policy, and negotiating with friends across the aisle, this program teaches me on a daily basis that the arts of compromise, listening, and communicating are key in maintaining our deliberative system of government. The list of Fellowship alumni is long and distinguished, and I am honored to be among them."
