Did You Know....? Facts and Figures for Students

  • Slightly more than half of this year's entering freshman class (out of an expected 262 admits) are women. It's a College first, with female admits totaling 140 (or 53 percent), a statistic coinciding with CMC's 25th anniversary of coeducation.
  • This year's freshmen reflect students from 231 different high schools.
  • The stairway in Bauer North goes only to the second floor, but the elevator will take you to both lower-level (basement) offices, and those on the third floor.
  • CMC's Pony Express makes three stops. Mailboxes for faculty, staff and administration on the eastern end of campus are housed on the second floor of Bauer North. Mailboxes for the western end of campus are located in P-6 (Pitzer Hall). Student mailboxes are smack-dab in the middle of campus, at Story House.
  • If you're looking for the trees outside the Registrar's Office this fall, you won't find them. They've been replaced by flower beds.
  • When people say, 'The Hub,' they're referring to part of the Emett Student Center. The center has three facets: The Hub (an eatery), the Frazee Game Room, and the Student Store.
  • The Class of 2005's participation in the Wilderness Orientation Adventure (W.O.A.!) broke records. The student-run program, designed to welcome first-year students to the College by engaging them in outdoor activities (such as beach camping, canoeing, backpacking, and climbing in Yosemite), had an increase this year of about 40 to 50 percent more students.
