Rideshare Ice Cream Social

The third annual Rideshare Ice Cream Social will take place on Friday, Oct. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in McKenna Auditorium, featuring ice cream, toppings, whipped cream, and cherries. The event is open to all current staff and faculty.

CMC is required to maintain an average vehicle ridership of 1.5 or better, meaning at least 1.5 persons per vehicle commute to campus. Rideshare coordinator Jill Nicholas says the College has met or exceeded that goal for several years, with a current (AVR) of 1.7.

Through the Rideshare program, full-time employees who walk, bicycle, use public transportation, or rideshare to work are offered $1.50 per workday, Monday through Friday. Employees with access to a computer may print out monthly forms and send them to human resources, Bauer room 105, in care of Jill Nicholas. Employees without computer access may fill out monthly forms received via campus mail. Rideshare subsidies are added to the last paycheck of each month.

Other Rideshare incentives include monthly cash drawings, L.A. County Fair tickets, an annual picnic, and more. A subsidy of up to $60 per month also is available for use of public transportation (i.e., bus, Metrorail).
