Howard Woo, financial advisor for Citigroup/Smith Barney, was a panelist for a conference discussion on Financial Fitness for Women.

Michele Prlich, regional sales manager, Women and Company, Citigroup, was among the featured speakers. Discussions throughout the day touched on such issues as caring for children and parents, workplace flexibility, the politics of parenting, issues for non-traditional families, and career planning.

Through interactive workshops and seminars, conference participants shared struggles in balancing work-family issues, as well as their successes and solutions.

Nancy (Strauss '89) Sonnenfeld, with infant son Emmett, traveled from
Colorado to attend. "The conference topic was particularly relevant and
timely for me, as I have become a parent later in life, after having
established a career I enjoy in public health . . . The Berger Institute did
a terrific job of combining science and research with personal experiences
and forums for the discussions."

Sue Molina (far left) former partner, Deloitte & Touche, LLP, and former national director of Deloitte's Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women, served as moderator for the discussion Career Issues for Parents: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Writer Joan Blades, co-founder of MoveOn.org and co-founder and president of MomsRising.org, was a featured speaker. Blades also signed copies of her book, The Motherhood Manifesto: What America's Moms Want and What to do About It.
