From the menus down to the prep, publicity, and performances, students from The Claremont Colleges plan every aspect of the 5-C International Banquet, held annually in the fall at either Harvey Mudd or Pomona colleges, where space accommodates hundreds of diners and on-stage student performers.
As in recent years, a sell-out crowd of more than 500—comprised of community guests, students, and graduate students—participated in the 34th Annual International Banquet at the Hoch-Shanahan Dining Commons at Harvey Mudd on Nov. 17 for a menu of international food, music, and entertainment. Themed Around the World in a Banquet, the student collaboration had help from Community Friends of International Students, a group that works regularly with I-Place and the International Club to provide numerous programs and services for international students and their families.
Five hundred tickets to this year's event were sold, with an additional 30-50 volunteers assisting, says Donald Delgado, assistant director of International Place.
