Here
is some basic personal
information about me. I am originally from
St. Petersburg, Russia,
where I graduated from
PTHS
(ФТШ) highschool (no.
566) in
1990. I
emigrated
together
with my family to
San
Francisco
Bay Area same year, 1990 - they still live there,
so
I visit there often. I went to college at
UCLA
(guess what was my
major), to
graduate school at the
University
of Texas, Austin, then did a postdoc in the
math department of
Texas A&M University, and now am on
the faculty at the
math department
of
Claremont McKenna College.
Oddly enough,
my brother Roma studied at
USC,
but
we do not fight over this - we have better reasons. My wife Eugenia
also was a
math
graduate student at the
University
of Texas, Austin, and now works as an
actuary. Here are some of
