Return to Placement Exams Introduction

Mathematics Placement Exams

Thank you for taking time out of your summer break to complete this online placement exam. By taking this exam now, you help us to ensure that we can place you in the right Calculus course this fall, when you arrive on campus. The online exams will be open from July 21 at 8:00 a.m. PST through August 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

Exam Information and Time Limit

Each exam is a multiple choice test, with a time limit of 120 minutes. You may take as many of the tests as you like. If you have not completed the exam at the end of 120 minutes, it will automatically end, and the portion of the exam you have completed will be submitted for grading. Remember that each placement exam may only be taken once. Once you start the exam, you need to complete it in that sitting. If you are disconnected, you should be able to reconnect and resume the exam (save each answer or you will be starting over) as long as you are within the time limit. Because of the time limit, you should be sure to set aside a large, uninterrupted block of time in which to take the exam.

Browser Compatibility

The exam works best when using Internet Explorer version 6 or higher or Firefox 2 or higher.
