Negotiation Workshop

The Women and Leadership Alliance is sponsoring a 5-C Negotiation Workshop at CMC in Pickford Auditorium and selected Bauer South classrooms on Friday, April 27th, 2-5p. This workshop will target negotiation strategies in the areas of compensation, professional development and social interactions in three specialized sessions. Each session will be led by a professional in the respective topic area and students will have an opportunity to participate in negotiation simulations based upon focused scenarios.
• The Compensation session will focus on employment offers to include, the components of the offer, research and comparison of offers as well as the adversarial nature of this type of conversation.
• The Professional Development session will discuss negotiation in the workplace to include, speaking up, taking risks, networking as well as techniques of self promotion.
• The Social session will focus on interactions and compromise with family, work colleagues as well as the transition from a college social life to a post-college/professional social life.
