The Women's ForumMission StatementThe Claremont McKenna Women’s Forum is a membership movement that aims to provide a resource to educate students in understanding women’s issues, including but not limited to: sexual assault/ harassment, economic discrimination, reproductive health, the portrayal of gender and sexism. This organization publicizes and celebrates the contributions and achievements of women and also provides a comfortable space at CMC for all genders to unite, start a discourse about various issues, and create community building opportunities. Ultimately, the CMC Women’s Forum strives to make CMC an environment free from gender, social, political, and economic and cultural discrimination.Upcoming EventNo Offense: Joking Culture and Campus ClimateFriday, November 18Women's Forum will be hosting a panel and workshop addressing joking and its culture on campus. The student panel will discusses joking culture, political correctness, discrimination and how students feel about jokes on campus. Topics will include -- but are not limited to -- joking about race, gender, sex/sexuality, and class. Following the panel discussion, Prof. Audrey Bilger will lead a workshop that will provide students with various ways to combat and cope with jokes and offenses that they face daily.
