Networking Treks

Students in front of White House

The Soll Center for Student Opportunity, Career Services, and other institutions/departments across CMC, offer annual Networking Treks to undergraduate students. The treks are an experiential trip to Industry Centers across the country that takes place during Winter, Spring and Fall breaks. The treks last anywhere from 2-5 days with 3-5 organization visits per day. Want to know more? Check out this short video from our 2017 San Francisco Networking Trek!

Why should I go on a trek?

  • Learn about the variety of roles within a particular industry and the environments and people within specific organizations, all while experiencing daily life in a new city.
  • Get an inside scoop on the industries of interest through visits to prominent companies and firms within each industry and an alumni panel.
  • Hone your informational interviewing and networking skills with CMC alumni and employers.
  • Develop important networking relationships in the relevant industry that may lead to enhanced summer internship and full-time opportunities.

Which cities do the treks visit?

Past treks have taken students to Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

How much do treks cost?

CMC will cover all lodging and most food costs for the entire week and stipends are available to offset transportation costs for students who qualify.
