Class of 2022 Commencement Ceremony
Saturday, May 14, 2022
CMC Campus

Claremont McKenna College invites the families and friends of the Class of 2022 to join our graduates and the College in commemorating this important milestone during the Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 14.

As we proceed with preparations for an in-person, on-campus commencement, the College will continue to monitor public health conditions and guidelines, as well as align plans with CMC’s COVID Visitor Policy. Additional information regarding various activities that honor our CMC graduates and their families will be added to the Commencement website in the coming weeks and detailed information regarding vaccination verification, testing, and other requirements will be shared in April so that graduates and families can plan appropriately.

Important Information for Family & Friends

  • Health conditions at CMC and The Claremont Colleges have improved; thus, proof of vaccination or testing for guests attending commencement events will not be required. Mask wearing is strongly recommended, though not required. The College unequivocally supports the personal decisions to wear a mask indoors or outside. Masks will be available at events for any guest who would like one. Hand sanitizing stations will be provided at all events, and social distancing is still encouraged where possible. Before arriving on campus, visitors must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms and may not come to campus if symptomatic or otherwise sick. If you have potentially been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 in the five days before coming to campus, we ask that you refrain from coming to campus.
  • Because of the expected high temperatures on Saturday, May 14, Pickford Auditorium will be provided as an air conditioned location to view the commencement ceremony by live stream. Pickford Auditorium will be open to guests from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • CMC provides wheelchair access for individuals who may need accommodation (however, we do not provide wheelchairs or rides). Shuttles will be provided before and after the ceremony to assist guests parking north and south of Pritzlaff Field. If you have any special concerns, please direct them to the Office of Events.
  • The College requests that guests refrain from bringing pets to the outdoor commencement ceremony. Service animals are permitted. Thank you for your compliance.
  • Tickets are not required for the graduation ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats may not be reserved but may be held if a family member remains under the marquee. Staff members will be onsite to assist with seating and any special needs. Please note that the gates to Pritzlaff Field will open at 12:00 p.m. (noon) for access to the ceremony site.
  • So that you do not have to leave your seat during the ceremony, CMC has contracted for individual photos of each graduate receiving a diploma during the ceremony. A link containing these images will be sent to you and your student via email one week following the ceremony.
  • Live streaming of the commencement ceremony will occur on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (PT). A link will be posted on and the Commencement website closer to the event.
