Robert Faggen is the Barton Evans and H. Andrea Neves Professor of Literature at Claremont McKenna College. He is the author of Robert Frost and the Challenge of Darwin and The Cambridge Introduction to Robert Frost as well as the editor of The Notebooks of Robert Frost (Harvard University Press), The Cambridge Companion to Robert Frost, and Penguin Classics editions of the poetry of Herman Melville and E.A. Robinson. He is also editing a multi-volume edition of Frost's letters to be published by Harvard University Press.
In 1997, Faggen published an edition of the letters of Czeslaw Milosz: Striving Towards Being: The Letters of Thomas Merton and Czeslaw Milosz. A 1998 Milosz Festival at CMC organized by Professor Faggen and attended by the honoree, was the subject of a full issue of Partisan Review. Faggen also interviewed Milosz for both Books and Culture and The Paris Review, for which he serves as an editorial associate. His interview with Ken Kesey also appeared in The Paris Review, and he is currently completing a biography of the author and cultural icon for Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
