DIS Copenhagen, Denmark
Public Policy Analysis: Biology
Describe your typical day:
I would start by making breakfast with my host mom before class every day. After class I would do homework or explore Copenhagen before helping my host brother with his homework.
Favorite food discovered while abroad:
Æbleskiver—Little round pancake or donut things that were served with powdered sugar and jam as it got closer to the holidays.
What was your favorite part of the city to visit?
There was this great coffee shop in the old part of the city near the Parliament building. It had bright green ceilings, candles on every table, and the best lattes I've ever had. Plus lots of good people watching.
What was one highlight of your semester off-campus?
My host mom took myself and my roommate who was another American DIS student up to their family’s summer house in another part of Denmark. I really got close to my host mom on that trip.
What was one challenge you faced during your semester off-campus?
Adjusting to the routines of the host family was tough at first especially with two of us but we eventually figured it out Advice: Take different courses than what you would typically take at CMC you might like something different. Go on the DIS organized trips and events.
