DIS Copenhagen, Denmark

Describe your typical day: In the mornings I would run around a lake and a castle that was nearby my homestay. Afterwards I would take the train into the city for class and in the evenings I would watch TV with my host family.

Favorite food discovered while abroad: My host dad was a cook so we had great food. I really liked Danish meatballs, the pork with the crispy outside, and flødeboller (Chocolate-coated marshmallow treats).

What was your favorite part of the city to visit? I liked running around the lakes and going to Christiansborg Palace in the middle of the city.

What was one highlight of your semester off-campus? Going to Moscow on a study tour with my Global Economics core class was really cool. Also taking a DIS trip to Finland.

What was one challenge you faced during your semester off-campus? My host family was fairly busy and had older kids so sometimes it was difficult do to things with them.

Advice: Go and do things in the city where you can meet Danes who can be somewhat challenging to meet. I did a run with locals and really recommend it.
