Dear Fellow Alumni,
When I stepped into the role of CMCAA President, I knew I would reconnect with my alma mater in new and exciting ways. What surprised me, in the most affirming way, was how often I’d encounter a truth I learned as a first-year student: the CMC network is generous to its core. And this generosity makes things happen. It changes lives.
For instance, take the experience of a classmate I connected with at a New York alumni event. She shared that a major career pivot was made possible because an alum she’d never met before took her call, opened their office, and made introductions. Time and again, I have witnessed CMC values in action: curiosity, leadership, service, and an unshakable willingness to say “yes” when someone reaches out. Our community thrives when we open doors for
each other.
Along with shared stories, this past year brought some incredible shared experiences.
In June, many of us gathered for Worldmeet IV in Argentina. Between thought-provoking discussions, immersive cultural tours, and meals that stretched late into the night, CMCers built bridges not just across miles, but across generations.
That same spirit of community and camaraderie carried on at Alumni Weekend 2025, where the liveliness of the Alumni Club and the joyful presence of spouses and little ones made it clear that our goal to involve more alumni families in CMC life is taking root. A personal highlight: watching alumni children in Stag-a-Palooza shirts racing around while their parents reminisced nearby.
And we’re not slowing down. Planning for Worldmeet 2026 in Greece is in the works, and Alumni Weekend 2026 promises even more opportunities to connect, especially for classes ending in 1 and 6. Save the date: June 4-7!
For the remainder of my term, my priority is simple: strengthen the bridge between students and alumni. This means expanding project-based learning opportunities in underrepresented fields, growing our internship and mentorship pipelines, and ensuring CMC students are prepared to lead in any industry they choose. Many of us got our start because someone made time for us; now it’s our turn to pay it forward.
And, of course, let’s also take time to celebrate.
CMC’s commemoration of 50 years of co-education officially begins in 2026. In the following pages, don’t miss a conversation with our amazing anniversary celebration co-chairs, Mari Adam ’80 and Lorraine Bains ’88. As this issue also showcases, in September, the College dedicated the Robert Day Sciences Center, a moment that symbolizes CMC’s forward-looking ethos and trajectory. And in 2026-27, we will welcome a new president as President Chodosh concludes his extraordinary tenure.
Through it all, CMCAA’s mission remains the same: to keep CMCers connected to each other and to the College we love. I hope you will join me in making the most of the opportunities ahead—whether that’s attending an event, mentoring a student, opening an internship, or reaching out to a fellow alum.
With gratitude,
Antoine Grant ’07
President
