International Education Week at CMC November 17-21, 2008

"I am delighted to recognize International Education Week at CMC, and to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our faculty, staff, and students, in internationalizing the campus.
More than fifty percent of our student body now participates in study abroad, choosing from 113 approved programs in 54 countries around the world. Increasing numbers of CMC students are also undertaking summer internships overseas, and last summer, students worked in fifty countries, from Argentina to Morocco to Vietnam. They return from these study abroad and internship experiences with new skills and fresh perspectiveseager to find solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.
CMC currently has 77 international students representing all corners of the world, and they richly contribute to life on campus and in the community. This fall, the Office of Admission conducted its first recruiting trip to the Middle East, with stops in Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. The Office of Admission also returned to Hong Kong, Singapore, and China, and several cities in India, to continue attracting top students from these countries to CMC to further enrich our campus.
International Education Week at CMC showcases how our continuing work contributes to the College's mission to train effective leaders on both the national and the international level. CMC's international initiatives allow students to apply the theories that they learn in the classroom to real events around the globe, uniting the world of ideas with a pragmatic sense of dedication and global responsibility."
