Scott Turicchi, '85, co-president of j2 Global Communications, Inc., will meet with students of the Claremont Entrepreneurship Society (CES) on Monday, March 11 to offer potential entrepreneurs some valuable insight on the financial development and operations of corporations. The event, which will be held in the Parent's Room at the Athenaeum, begins with a 5:30 p.m. reception, followed by dinner at 6, and an address at 7.
The event is open to all 5C students and alumni.
Turicchi, who oversees all j2 Global merger and acquisitions and public company matters, joined the company in March 2000 as executive vice president of corporate development. The company provides outsourced, value-added messaging and communications services to individuals and businesses in more than 2,900 cities in 42 countries on five continents.
Prior to joining j2 Global, Turicchi was a managing director in Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation's investment banking department, responsible for corporate finance activities including public equity offerings, high grade and high yield debt offerings, private equity placements and mergers and acquisitions advisory services. During that time, Turicchi led deal-teams at DLJ that raised nearly $100 million for j2 Global.
CES president Efi Shabtai '08 says that although Turicchi is not an entrepreneur himself, "It is important for students with entrepreneurial interests to be exposed to the finance side of a business. Mr. Turicchi's experience and accomplishments in investment banking and now with j2 Globalare very impressive. We would be missing out if we couldn't get him to share his insight with us."
