CMC director of Career Services and associate dean of students Susanne Mahoney Filback will serve as a panelist in a college recruiting conference on Friday, Dec. 3 at Cal State Fullerton, aimed at assisting employers in setting up recruiting program strategies and techniques.
The conference, College Recruiting Basics for Employers, is sponsored by the Western Association of Colleges and Employers (WACE), representing about 500 career planning and placement officesincluding CMC's Career Services Centerand professionals from business, industry, and government who recruit, employ, and train graduates of colleges and universities in the western states and Canada.
Within the conference, experienced employers from strong, college recruiting programs will team with college career center staff to share best practices for organizing an effective college recruiting program, with possible topics including career fairs, diversity recruiting, early identification, internship programs, and faculty relations.
Filback, a former recruiter for McKinsey & Company, says her role as a panelist reflects directly on the College's integrity. "Organizations recognize the reputation of CMC's students as well as the Career Center's recruiting program," she says.
