2024 Benefits Open Enrollment

Dear Benefit-Eligible Faculty & Staff,   

The 2024 Benefits Open Enrollment period begins Monday, October 30, and ends on Friday, November 17, at 5:00 p.m. PST. Action is required to enroll for benefits in 2024. 

All benefit elections are effective January 1, 2024, and will remain in effect through December 31, 2024, unless you experience a qualifying life event that would allow you to make a mid-year change.  

Participants in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) must re-enroll during open enrollment, as current year elections will NOT carry over.   

Please review the 2024 Benefits guide carefully, as it contains detailed information about the 2024 benefits.  Open enrollment is the time to make changes and review your benefits, including Health Care – Medical, Dental, and Vision; Savings Accounts – Flexible Spending or Health Savings Accounts; and Financial Protection – AD&D and Life Insurance. The 2024 rates are attached to this email. 
Below are a few key details about this year’s Open Enrollment: 

New! Transitioning from Anthem Blue Cross to Blue Shield of CA:

Effective January 1, 2024, we will be transitioning from Anthem Blue Cross to Blue Shield of CA to better align with our goals. Please note that we will continue to offer Kaiser as an additional medical insurance option. The significant savings from this change will be passed on to employees, with minimal savings shared with the colleges. Please visit Blue Shield of CA Microsite in English or Spanish for The Claremont Colleges specific medical plans.

How to Complete your Open Enrollment Starting October 30 through November 17:

To review your current benefits and make any desired plan changes for the new plan year, please log into Workday using your network credentials, which are the same credentials that you use to access your email. For assistance with your credentials, please contact the IT Help Desk at (909) 607-0911.  Once you are in Workday, look in your inbox for your “Open Enrollment Change” task starting October 30.    

Review your current benefit elections and make any desired plan changes for the new year.  After completing your selections, click the “I Agree” button on your Enrollment Summary page and click “Submit” to finalize your enrollment.  Further, we strongly recommend printing out the confirmation of your elections for your records.
