Coreen Rodgers

Coreen Rodgers, vice president and chief financial officer of the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, will join Claremont McKenna College as vice president of business and chief operating officer.

President Chodosh announced Rodgers’ appointment to the CMC campus community May 14.

“We were looking for an executive leader with superior skills and a track record of accomplishment across many disciplines of core business operations, and we have found that leader in Coreen Rodgers.”

In her role at CMC, Rodgers will oversee the financial and operational enterprises of the College, including finance and accounting, information technology and security, building and grounds management, human resources, food services and campus dining, and The Children’s School. She will report to President Chodosh, and will work closely with Vice President and Chief Investment Officer James Floyd, Associate Vice President and Acting Treasurer Erin Watkins, the Board of Trustees, the President’s Executive Cabinet, and many colleagues across The Claremont Colleges.

“CMC’s mission represents all the core values that I personally hold true and have aspired to in my professional life: to lead a thoughtful and productive life and to demonstrate responsible business leadership. I look forward to meeting with everyone I can to organize and support initiatives that will allow CMC to continue on its ambitious and distinctive path for the benefit of all faculty, staff and students.”

Prior to the Huntington, Rodgers was the chief operating officer of USC’s Keck School of Medicine, and was senior administrator of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. She began her career as a senior auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP.

Throughout these professional experiences, she has successfully managed large budgets, eliminated deficits, run large building projects, led human resources, directed retail operations, supported public programs, and implemented insurance and risk management. Coreen also led capital planning, high-growth hiring plans, and complex project management.  She is an experienced financial and operational leader with a passion for building teams to meet challenging goals.

Rodgers is a certified public accountant, holds a B.S. in accounting from Pepperdine University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami. She will join CMC on May 28.
