Professor Mark Blitz To Address D.C. Alumni

Mark BlitzProfessor Mark Blitz will address the Washington, D.C. chapter of CMCAA on April 11. Blitz, the Fletcher Jones Professor of Political Philosophy, is chair of CMC's government department, and director of research.
The Washington gathering will be familiar territory for Blitz, who's held a number of senior positions there, including vice president of the Hudson Institute, associate director of the United States Information Agency, where he was the senior official responsible for managing, coordinating, and setting policy for U.S. international education and exchange programs, and as a senior professional staff member of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
"I enjoy discussing politics and public policy with our alumni," says Blitz, who has also met recently with CMCAA chapters in Boston and New York and says he's looking forward to discussing international affairs at the upcoming event.
Blitz graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, where he majored in government and also later earned his Ph.D. in political science. He joined CMC in 1996 and is the author Heidegger's "Being and Time" and the Possibility of Political Philosophy, (Cornell University Press, 1981), and Educating the Prince (Rowman and Littlefield, 2000), co-edited with William Kristol.
