It has been an exceptional spring for CMS Athletics as five teams (men’s golf, women’s golf, women’s tennis, men’s tennis and men’s track & field) won their sport’s conference championships, while the softball team won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament. Several spring teams are represented in their respective NCAA Championships over the upcoming weeks in May.

Women’s Golf The Athena golf team won the SCIAC title for the third year in a row. While the Athenas as a team did not get an invite to the NCAA Championships, the NCAA invited Maya Reddy ’14 (CMC) and Tiffany Su ’15 (CMC) to compete as individuals, May 13-16 at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

Men’s Golf The Stag golf team won its 10th SCIAC Championship in program history and first since 1995 after a first-place finish in the SCIAC Championship Tournament. With the automatic qualification from winning the conference, CMS competes in the NCAA Golf Championships to be held May 13-16 in Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Softball The Athena softball team went 3-1 May 2-3 at the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, winning the tournament for the third season in row and earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament. CMS has advanced to an NCAA regional hosted by Redlands May 9-10. CMS will play Linfield at 11 a.m. and Redlands at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9.
