Yvette McGee Brown P’19 joins CMC Board of Trustees

Yvette McGee Brown P’19, a partner at the Jones Day law firm and former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, has joined Claremont McKenna College’s Board of Trustees. Her three-year term was approved Feb. 9.

Named one of the best lawyers in America by Appellate Practice, McGee Brown has investigated alleged violations of Title VI and Title IX; defended clients in public corruption, regulation enforcement, and constitutional challenges; and worked with the city of Cleveland on constitutional free speech and safe policing in preparation for the 2016 Republican National Convention. In addition to being the first African American woman appointed to the Ohio Supreme Court, she was a judge of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas and founding president of the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

At Jones Day, McGee Brown is also Partner-in-Charge for Diversity, Inclusion, and Advancement. She earned her BS in journalism from Ohio University and a JD from Ohio State University.
