Ambassador C. Steven McGann ’73 appointed to Claremont McKenna Board of Trustees
C. Steven McGann ’73

The Claremont McKenna College Board of Trustees recently welcomed new trustee C. Steven McGann ’73, the former United States Ambassador to the Republics of Fiji, Nauru, Kiribati, and the Kingdom of Tonga and Tuvalu. He also served as the Deputy Commandant of the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University.

McGann, founder of The Stevenson Group, an international consulting and global security strategist firm, was elected to a three-year term at the Board’s meeting on April 23. McGann previously served as an Alumnus Trustee.

“I am deeply honored to join CMC’s Board of Trustees and look forward to giving back to the College,” said McGann. “CMC is an incredibly special place.”

McGann’s company specializes in providing strategic counsel to companies and organizations seeking to expand their operations into the United States, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America markets.

During his public service career as a U.S. Ambassador, McGann led a number of successful efforts in contracting, negotiations, consultation, and resource management and procurement on a global scale.
