Prof. Heather Antecol, a distinguished economics scholar whose influential research on labor economics is recognized on a global scale, has been named Claremont McKenna College’s new Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty.
Antecol, the Boswell Professor of Economics, is the former chair of the Robert Day School of Economics and Finance, former director of the Berger Institute, and the most recent chair of the college’s Administration Committee.
She began her new role this past Monday, February 22.
Larry Burik, vice president for facilities and security at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, is joining Claremont McKenna College as associate vice president of Facilities Management and Capital Projects.
In his new role at CMC, Burik is responsible for planning, budgeting, and management of all campus facilities, including new construction and renovations, preventive and corrective maintenance, housekeeping and grounds operations, energy and water conservation programs, and building access systems.
College campuses are vibrant, diverse communities with a wide range of faculty and staff members who have varied backgrounds and bring different skill sets, life stories, passions and experiences to their work. In an effort to foster an even greater sense of community at Claremont McKenna College, the Dean of the Faculty’s Office has been hosting VISA (values, identities, scholarship, arts) lunches a few times per semester at the CARE Center.
