June 17, 2021
Dear CMC Community:
With the full support of Congress, President Biden signed into law the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, which establishes June 19 as a federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. This year, the holiday falls on Saturday. This means observance of the federal holiday will be tomorrow, Friday, June 18. Given the strength of our commitment to respect the holiday, and despite the short notice, we will observe the holiday tomorrow, June 18, 2021. Next year, we will observe the federal holiday on Monday, June 20, 2022. Our 2021-22 academic calendar already reflects this change.
