Newly-opened for the 2025-26 academic year, the Robert Day Sciences Center (RDSC) is an iconic campus anchor point designed to bring together core disciplines and support CMC’s innovative undergraduate sciences curriculum, the Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences (KDIS).
Recognizing that scientific and computational innovation touches every aspect of society, the RDSC represents an important milestone in developing interdisciplinary leaders and providing a setting for dynamic interaction between students, faculty, staff, and experts.
Designed by world-renowned architects, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, the RDSC further makes the scientific process visible to students through a stunning, transparent design offering views into classrooms and research spaces from a soaring central atrium at all levels. Additionally, the RDSC features unique spaces that facilitate collaborative activity throughout, including the Innovation Studio, the Quantum Library, and the Agora—high-trafficked areas for study, group projects, multidisciplinary learning, presentations, and virtual convening—as well as a series of spacious outdoor terraces offering sweeping views of the mountains in the north.
Named a significant U.S. architecture project for 2025 by Dezeen Magazine, the RDSC is an advanced hub for science and innovation that will help CMC deliver what the world needs from our next generation of responsible leaders.
Come back this fall to learn about special RDSC features—including more from our official Sept. 26 dedication of the building!
