Information for Faculty or Staff Travel

The Claremont Colleges have partnered with AIG to provide Foreign Travel Assistance Services for faculty, staff, and students who travel on College related business and incidental personal travel up to seven days before and after the scheduled end of the travel for college business.  This plan also applies to qualified guests.  Highlights of coverage are below.

  • Accidental Death - $25,000
  • Accidental Dismemberment/Paralysis - according to schedule 
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation - $100,000
  • Excess Medical Expense - $50,000 with $100 deductible ($1,000 for mental health)
  • Security Evacuation - $1000,000
  • Repatriation of Remains - $50,000
  • Quarantine Daily Benefit - $100 with a maximum benefit of $1,000

Additionally, it is highly recommended that all international travel be registered on the CMC Travel Registration System www.cmc.edu/surveys/travel/.  Doing so will speed CMC and AIG assistance or evacuation in the event of an emergency.

For non-work related international travel, members of the CMC community ant their guests including children are eligible to sign up and personnally pay for con-CMC affiliated International Travel Insurance through iNext. There are numerous plans available depending upon the individual's needs and the basic plan starts at $39.00 for a full year from the coverage start date if purchased through CMC: iNext coverage application.  Please contact the Center for Global Education at (909) 621-8167 with questions.

Staff and faculty should register their foreign travel with the U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) (or with the home country embassy, for international faculty and staff): https://step.state.gov/step/
