Professor Filson is the Academic Director of the Silicon Valley Program and Professor of Economics at Claremont McKenna College. In addition to his Silicon Valley Program courses, he has taught courses on many other subjects including game theory, econometrics, and finance. Much of his research focuses on high-tech firms and industries.
Professor Filson earned his B.A. with double honors in economics and political studies from the University of Saskatchewan, and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Rochester. A member of the CMC faculty since 2007, he also serves as the Director of Graduate Programs for the Robert A. Day School of Economics and Finance.
