TCCS Campus Safety

Campus dispatchers phone lines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. CMC public safety officers will be dispatched and respond immediately to incidents on CMC’s campus.

Escorts

Safety Escorts are provided by uniformed CMC Public Safety Officers who will respond to the location of the community member requesting the escort and accompany them to their desired destination.

Safety Escort requests can be made by calling the 24-hour Dispatch Center at (909) 607-2000 or (909) 607-7233 (SAFE), or by calling extension 7-7233 from any on-campus landline telephone.

Crime Prevention

CMC’s Public Safety team proactively works with The Claremont Colleges Campus Safety Department on crime prevention and safety. These efforts include ensuring around-the-clock safety escort availability; patrolling all campus streets, byways, and interior areas; monitoring alarms and responding quickly to requests for services; providing security and traffic control at special events and performances; providing crime prevention and security education; and assisting with efforts for theft prevention.

Event Security

CMC Public Safety provides evaluates and provides safety and security support for special events at campus venues. If you are planning an event and would like to know more, please note that at least two weeks’ notice is required to assess requirements and identify costs.

Training

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management team offers safety programs for the campus community periodically during the academic year. These include no-notice fire evacuation drills and earthquake preparedness workshops, self-defense courses offered at CMC’s Wellness Day, and other training sessions tailored to meet the needs of campus departments and organizations.
