About 100 students and alumni gathered February 22 at McKenna Auditorium for the 10th annual Women in Leadership Workshop. The event, billed as “redefining work and life,” offered professional women from a range of industries the chance to engage with 7C students and help them prepare for leadership roles.

Two upcoming events will highlight women in leadership roles and their trajectories toward those roles.

Women and Leadership Workshop

The Claremont Colleges Women and Leadership Alliance, a joint endeavor to support and promote student programs at the Claremont Colleges that will highlight issues faced by women in leadership in business, government and the professions, will hold its 7th Annual Women and Leadership Workshop on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.

A GATHERING OF THE 7-Cs: The Women and Leadership Alliance's most recent workshop brought together students from across The Claremont Colleges.

When the Board of Trustees voted 40 years ago, on April 24, 1975, to turn CMC into a coeducational institution, historian Kevin Starr writes in his history of the college that the vote marked a major milestone in CMC's first 50 years.

Today, the opportunities for growth and enrichment for female students at CMC -- and The Claremont Colleges, in general -- is regularly addressed by the Women and Leadership Alliance, which gives special attention to issues touching on women's leadership in business and the professions.
