CMC is deeply committed to the success and wellbeing of our international students. International students make up nearly one-fifth of the entire student body and are an invaluable part of our CMC community. International Student Services (ISS), housed in the Dean of Students Office, is led by our Assistant Dean for International Student Services and Academic Success. The nations and regions of the world are increasingly interdependent. It is critical that responsible leaders develop global perspective and multicultural competence. The presence of students and scholars from around the world helps create a sense of world community and enriches the education for all students, faculty, staff, and the community beyond.
Our Mission
- To offer specific services for CMC’s international students, to facilitate their successful adjustment to the academic and social environment, and to provide accurate and relevant information and advice throughout their course of study.
- To provide professional services and information for administrators and faculty concerning federal regulations governing international students and national principles of ethics and standards in international education.
- To lead initiatives that foster an atmosphere of world community at CMC and within the Claremont Colleges, in which students and scholars from abroad are broadly regarded and supported as valued members of the community.
- To plan and implement programs which increase international and multicultural knowledge and understanding at CMC, the Claremont Colleges, and surrounding communities.
