The Soll Center for Student Opportunity

Training, Room Reservations & Funding

While we encourage every student to come and meet with a career coach on an individual basis, we also offer group resources, such as how-to videos and workshops, interview room facilities, and funding mechanisms for summer internships and in-semester experiential funding.

Training Resources

The Soll Center for Student Opportunity offers a number of skills-based workshops throughout the academic year, focused on resumes, cover letters, interviewing, Handshake, and much more. We also offer strengths workshops where individuals or teams can have their strengths assessed. Student clubs can request one of these (or a specialized) workshop for their members by contacting Career Services. We have also created a series of brief animated introductory videos to help you navigate the many tools and resources offered to students. This is a great way to learn the basics and gets some of your questions answered. You can find these vides on our YouTube playlist.

Room Reservations

The Soll Center offers interview rooms (8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday) to provide students with a quiet space to conduct interviews with employers and alumni. We request that all interview room requests are submitted at least 24 hours in advance. Please use this interview room reservation request form to book an interview room.

In-Semester Funding

During the academic year, Career Services provides experiential funding to enable students to participate in career development opportunities they would not otherwise be able to afford, such as attending professional conferences, participating in in-person interviews, or visiting graduate schools. Please use this experiential funding request form and review the In-Semester Experiential Funding Policy for 2023-2024 to get started.

Summer Internship & Experience Funding

The Sponsored Internships & Experiences (SIE) program is a unique way to help equalize opportunities for all our students, particularly first- and second-year students, by providing them with funding that allows them to take advantage of transformative opportunities. You can learn more about how to request summer funding on the SIE website.
