Manage Your Award

Congratulations on your award! A few reminders as you get started with your sponsored project:

  1. Grants are awarded with a set of terms and conditions. These are typically found in the grant agreement/award notice and may include information regarding the spending of the award and reporting requirements. Once an award is made, the grants team will initiate a post-award meeting to review these terms and conditions to ensure the research team is set up for success. We are also available throughout the grant cycle to answer questions, discuss and assist with any changes to the project/budget, etc.
  2. Time and Effort Certification: If you were awarded federal funding, you will be required to submit a time and effort certification at the end of each term (fall, spring, summer). Jennifer Perez and Beth Jager will be in touch to request the form.
  3. Responsible Conduct in Research: All those involved in a federal grant—including but not limited to research trainees such as undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers—must complete Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) training and remain compliant with CMC’s RCR policy. Beth Jager will be in touch to initiate required training.
  4. Ask Early and Often: Check in with the grants team early and often with questions about spending, any changes to the scope of work or project personnel, no-cost extensions, etc. We are here to help!
